We SURPASSED our 2025 Goal of growing and donating 25,000 pounds of fresh produce to reduce hunger and food insecurity.
Adirondack Blue Potatoes put us over the 30,000 pound mark of veggies grown and donated so far this year!! We planted these as seed potatoes in August with high hopes for a nice November harvest and they did not disappoint!! Yesterday, with the help of volunteers from Dominion Energy, we harvested all of our Adirondack Blue Potatoes — totaling just over 1,100 pounds of beauty and goodness. The Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank sent a truck out late yesterday afternoon and they picked up 705 pounds of these blue potatoes plus several boxes of zucchini harvested by our volunteers on Monday — for a total of 1,165 pounds. This afternoon we brought the rest (406 pounds) of our Adirondack Blue potatoes into the Food Bank. We hope that the folks who eat these beautiful potatoes will enjoy them as much as we loved growing them!! We’re now at 30,649 pounds of produce that we have grown and donated so far this year to reduce hunger and food insecurity in our community.
